Malayan Insurance Partners with LRT-1 to Give "The Gift of Protection" to Commuters this December

Malayan Insurance launches  a special holiday initiative designed to future-proof the daily journey of the Filipino commuter.

The Gift of Protection is a month-long campaign where LRT-1 offers Personal Accident (PA) insurance coverage powered by Malayan to commuters throughout the entire month of December. The initiative aims to put protection to the forefront for tens of thousands of passengers as they rush through Metro Manila's railways during the holiday season.

Malayan Insurance seeks to transform the daily commute into an opportunity for care and security.

"December is the most hectic time for Filipino commuters—carrying gifts, rushing to catch buses home, navigating crowded stations," said Eden Tesoro, Chief Operating Officer of Malayan Insurance. "We wanted to cut through the holiday chaos with a meaningful gesture that reminds Filipinos that protection isn't an expense—it's a gift, and one we're honored to give this Christmas season."

To bring this message to life, Malayan Insurance has executed a full station takeover at the LRT-1 Gil Puyat Station, a strategic transit hub for commuters. Additionally, a fully-wrapped LRT-1 train will travel the line all month long, serving as a moving reminder of safety across the metro.

Availing of the coverage is designed to be quick and seamless for travelers on the go:

• Scan: Commuters simply scan the QR codes displayed throughout the Gil Puyat Station or on the branded train.
• Input: The digital process requires only basic information—name and mobile number.
• Receive: A digital policy certificate is issued instantly, providing one month of free coverage.

This initiative reflects Malayan Insurance's broader commitment to making insurance accessible and relevant, shifting the perception of insurance from a burden to a caring investment in one’s future.

"This partnership with LRT-1 allows us to meet Filipinos where they are, literally," Tesoro added. "We want to bring protection to the forefront during a time they need it most, that's what future-proofing protection means to us."

The "Gift of Protection" campaign runs through the whole of December 2025 at the LRT-1 Gil Puyat Station and aboard the Malayan Insurance roaming train.
